October 29,1959 ~ September 9, 2017

John Robert Baugh, 57, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, surrounded by his family after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer in Brigham City, Utah.

John was born to J. Max and Leah Grant Baugh in Brigham City, Utah, on October 29, 1959, the fifth of six children. He grew up in Harper Ward, Utah, and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1977.

John faithfully served in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission from 1978 to 1980, under his wonderful mentor and Mission President, Monte J. Brough.

Prior to his mission John attended Utah State University. After his mission, he transferred to Brigham Young University and graduated from there in 1984, with a degree in Business Finance and Marketing. After graduating from BYU, he transferred back to USU and graduated in 1985, with his MBA.

While at BYU John met his soul mate, Linda Larue Truckenmiller. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on June 3, 1983. They have two daughters, Alison and Kirsten. John's two granddaughters, Legacy and Emry, were the light of his life and he enjoyed spoiling them.

John served on the high council, in multiple bishoprics, as the stake YM President and as the Bishop of the Brigham City 25th Ward. Johns most recent calling was serving as clergy with high risk boys in a group home setting. John loved working with the youth in all of his callings especially with the boys in the group home. John also received the honor of Eagle Scout.

John was employed for 32 years at ATK in various positions in payroll and finance. He made many lifelong friends during his time there.

John was a lifelong Cubs fan and celebrated their World Series win last year surrounded by family and friends. He also collected baseball cards. In his younger years, he enjoyed rodeo club and bull riding. He served in the FFA presidency and as president in high school. John grew up farming and continued to help on the family farm through the years. He enjoyed hunting and growing a bountiful garden each year. John was a great chef and enjoyed using his original Easy Bake Oven. Recently he took up going to garage sales where he would find old tools and Pepsi memorabilia.

John served on the Members First Credit Union Credit Committee and later on the Board of Directors from 1996, until his passing.

We will miss Johns quick wit and sense of humor.
